Clinical Nurse Educator Children's Health Arlington, TX
The care that a sexual assault survivor obtains helps to support their well-being. Little education is given to nursing students in utilizing trauma-informed care and providing nursing care to survivors. A simulation curriculum was created to help nursing students gain comfort in providing TIC care in a vulnerable patient population.

Increased knowledge about:
Identify how trauma-informed care of a patient can be simulated.
Learners will be able to discuss how simulation with a patient actor can increase comfort of nursing students practicing providing trauma-informed care.
Learners will recognize the possibilities of implementing a similar simulation in baccalaureate nursing programs in their area.
