(P15) Reproductive Health Teaching Associates: A Survivor Centered Approach for SANE Trainings with Standardized Patients

Transitioning to a Reproductive Health Teaching Associate (RHTA) model, as opposed to the use of Standardized Patients (SP), is a trauma informed and survivor centered approach to SANE education that can improve both SP role satisfaction and the learner experience for SANEs in training.

Learning Outcomes:

Increased knowledge about:
  • The learner will define Reproductive Health Teaching Associate (RHTA).
  • The learner will differentiate between a RHTA and a standardized patient (SP).
  • The learner will describe potential benefits of the RHTA model for SANE education.
