(P5) Enhancing Support Systems: Bridging the Gap Between Sexual Assault Survivors and Advocates

The poster will create a visual presentation of the above said project that will summarize the project, project outcomes, and how this project contributes to furthering research and care delivery models for both nurses that provide care for and patients that experience sexual assault.

Learning Outcomes:

Increased knowledge about:
  • impairments that can occur in the executive functioning and decision making of sexual assault patients if they experience acute stress disorder following sexual assault.
  • how advocates can assist sexual assault patients if they need mental health resources following a sexual assault.
  • how the advocate/resource toolkit can assist sexual assault nurses to increase referral rates to advocates for patients that experience sexual assault.
