This poster's aim is to introduce the concept of syndemics, a framework which posits that certain epidemics concentrate and that the interactions of coexisting epidemics can synergistically exacerbate the prognosis and disease burden in certain populations. Although syndemics have been used as a framework to address epidemiology and treatment in public health, addiction medicine, and infectious disease, it has yet to be integrated into forensic nursing. This poster aims to encourage curiosity in our field by posing research questions based on anecdotal experiences as well as existing literature.
