Cheryl Wier MSN RN SANE-A SANE-P NYSAFE has been practicing since 2006 as a registered nurse at Bradford Regional Medical Center in rural Pennsylvania with a focus in emergency nursing, forensic nursing, and nursing supervision. She earned an associate’s degree in nursing from Jamestown Community College and a master’s degree in forensic nursing from Aspen University. She began her journey in forensic nursing in 2008 completing adult/adolescent and pediatric SANE training, after which she achieved IAFN board certification as a SANE-A and SANE-P.
In 2016, Cheryl established an outpatient pediatric medical forensic clinic in conjunction with the Child Advocacy Center of McKean County which also serves Potter, Cameron, and Elk counties in Pennsylvania. In 2021, she assumed the role of pediatric SANE for the Southern Tier Child Advocacy Center where she conducts examinations for Cattaraugus and Allegany counties in western New York. Cheryl is an experienced fact and expert witness in Pennsylvania and New York.
Cheryl is the Clinical Nurse Coordinator and expert nurse team member for the Duquesne University ANE-SANE grant; whose purpose is to develop forensic nursing clinical skills as well as provide support and education as the students advance from novice to experienced SANE providers.
