Session Trigger Warning: IPV
This session will provide an overview of the National Protocol for Intimate Partner Violence Medical Forensic Examinations, which was released in 2023. In addition, the presenters will spend time with attendees strategizing effective ways to implement use of the protocol within clinical practice as well as an enhancement to the multidisciplinary response to IPV within communities.

Learning Outcomes:

Increased knowledge about:
  • the contents of the National Protocol for Intimate Partner Violence Medical Forensic Examinations.
  • the ways that clinicians can apply contents within the protocol into their clinical practice when caring for patients that have experienced IPV.
  • the ways that the protocol can be used to effectively address the multidisciplinary response to IPV within their own communities.
