This session explores the unique challenges faced by male victims of IPV, including barriers to help-seeking, psychological impacts, and systemic gaps. Participants will learn how forensic nurses can provide trauma-informed, gender-inclusive care, enhance evidence collection, and advocate for equitable support services tailored to the needs of male survivors.

Learning Outcomes:

Increased knowledge about:
  • the prevalence, characteristics, and unique challenges faced by male victims of intimate partner violence (IPV).
  • strategies to enhance evidence collection and improve systemic responses for male survivors in healthcare and legal settings.
  • the application of trauma-informed care principles to provide empathetic, gender-inclusive support to male IPV victims during forensic examinations.
