Stephanie R. Ellis, MA, is the Forensic Education Program Supervisor of Train to Retain: Forensic Nurse Education at Hennepin Healthcare's Assault Response Team in Minneapolis, MN. With a BS in Human Services and an MA in Grant Writing, Program Management, and Evaluation, Ms. Ellis brings a unique perspective to forensic nursing education. Though not a forensic nurse herself, she leverages eight years of experience in sexual violence response to create effective educational frameworks that allow her forensic nurse colleagues to effectively transmit their clinical expertise to learners. Her career spans sexual violence advocacy, grant writing, strategic planning, research, and program development. In her current role, Ms. Ellis has established a multi-state collaborative network that provides comprehensive training and ongoing support, strategically designed to both increase the number of forensic nurse examiners and enhance retention of those already practicing.
