Morgan Ficek, BSN, RNC-OB, OR-SANE, is a dedicated Forensic Nurse Examiner at the Providence SAFE Center and Clinical Educator at Providence Medical Forensic Services in Portland, Oregon. With a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (2006), she has spent her career focused on empowering patients and enhancing nursing practice through continued education.
Morgan began her nursing career in Labor and Delivery in 2006, where she spent 16 years providing care to patients and no doubt, survivors. She also served as a clinical instructor at the University of Portland’s School of Nursing, further honing her passion for education. In 2022, she transitioned into the role of Forensic Nurse Examiner, where her first case involved a pregnant survivor of intimate partner violence (IPV). In 2023, Morgan expanded her role as the educator for the forensic team, bridging gaps between different nursing specialties and the unique needs of the forensic patient population.
She has developed and implemented specialized care protocols for pregnant survivors at Providence Oregon and is a key educator for both community partners and colleagues. Morgan also serves on the county Sexual Assault Task Force and is recognized as the pregnancy expert for the Medical-Forensic Team. Through her work, she continues to drive positive change in the field of forensic nursing and survivor advocacy.
