Jessica (Jess) Dick MSN, RN, SANE-A, SANE-P is a Forensic Nurse Examiner and Associate Director of Nursing for DC Forensic Nurse Examiners. Jess has over 23 years of clinical experience as a registered nurse spanning multiple disciplines and has a Masters in Forensic Nursing from Duquesne University. Jess has been a forensic nurse since 2014. In addition to Washington, DC she has practiced in Pittsburgh, PA, and Colorado Springs, CO. Jess has prior leadership experience including Forensic Coordinator of a SANE team in Pittsburgh. Jess has taught forensic nursing skills labs in PA, CO, and DC. In her Associate Director role at DCFNE, Jess is responsible for nursing oversight and ensuring that DCFNE's nurses are well supported to continue to provide excellent patient care. In addition to these duties, Jess also provides direct patient care and around the clock clinical support as an on-call administrator.
Bio for co-presenter Iris Potter:
Iris Potter is the Associate Clinical Program Director of District of Columbia Forensic Nurse Examiners (DCFNE), a nonprofit providing trauma-informed forensic care to adolescent and adult survivors of violence in Washington, DC. Iris is a Registered Nurse with over two decades of nursing experience. Iris has practiced as a forensic nurse for DCFNE since 2014 caring for survivors of domestic and familial violence as well as survivors of sexual assault. Iris is responsible for managing the operational aspects of DCFNE’s clinical forensic program, coordinates the education of forensic nurses within DCFNE and manages the Forensic Preceptorship Training Program for forensic nurses across the world. In addition to these duties, Iris also provides direct patient care and around the clock clinical support as an on-call administrator. Iris received recognition for her dedication to forensic nursing as the International Association of Forensic Nurses 2022 Frontline Forensic Nurse of the Year.
