Leslie Flament, MS, APRN, PNP-PC, SANE-P is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner working at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago in their emergency care center for over 8 years. Leslie completed her undergraduate and postgraduate work through the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) College of Nursing Program. Her national certifications includes a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in Primary Care and a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner in Pediatrics.
Leslie’s professional expertise includes caring for children having concerns for SA including sex trafficking and exploitation. Leslie’s professional efforts, including educational/quality improvement (QI) activities, are geared towards best practices for the management of child maltreatment. Such efforts include the development of clinical care guidelines, leading a monthly multidisciplinary sexual assault peer review, actively mentoring/precepting others to become qualified medical providers in our state, and facilitating the Child Maltreatment Toolkit statewide project. Leslie is a member of several committees and work teams, and she proudly serves as a Board of Director for the Illinois Chapter of IAFN. Leslie enjoys sharing best practices and presenting at seminars and conferences often focusing on the topics of child sexual abuse and child sex trafficking and exploitation.
