Forensic Nurse Examiner and Nurse Death Reviewer

Stephanie Gunderson, BSN, RN, SANE-A, SANE-P, is a forensic nurse examiner with extensive experience providing compassionate care and expert forensic evaluations. She currently serves as a Forensic Nurse Examiner at Allina Health in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where she specializes in working with patients who have been affected by violence in Minnesota’s only full forensic nursing program. Stephanie also contributes to public health and safety through her primary role as a nurse death reviewer for the State of Minnesota’s Office of Ombudsman for Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities, offering critical insights into death review case investigations leading to systemic improvements. In addition to her clinical work, Stephanie is a passionate advocate for the nursing profession as a union steward for the Minnesota Nurses Association. She works to support her colleagues in achieving equitable working conditions and advancing the field of nursing.
