Hollye Gallion is a pediatric nurse practitioner who has worked in the field of child sexual abuse for 25 years, examining over 6,000 children and testifying as an expert witness numerous times in both criminal and civil proceedings throughout Middle TN. She is Clinical Director of the Our Kids Center and adjunct faculty in the Vanderbilt School of Nursing. During her tenure at Our Kids, she has presented at both national and local conferences on topics related to child sexual abuse. Hollye was primary author on one of the largest studies examining prevalence of physical findings in female children evaluated for concerns of sexual abuse. For the past two decades, Hollye has provided supervision to nurses and physicians who are learning how to properly evaluate children when there are concerns of sexual abuse. Hollye participated in the Medical Working Group which developed the National Protocol for Pediatric Sexual Assault Medical Forensic Examinations and is currently serving as a member of the Vanderbilt School of Nursing’s advisory board for their Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Program. Hollye assisted in the development of and co-led the Our Kids Indian Health Service Pediatric Forensic Skills Lab. Hollye earned her BSN from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 1985 and her master’s degree in nursing in 1997 from Belmont University in Nashville TN. She is certified as a pediatric nurse practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Hollye is a member of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, the International Association of Forensic Nurses and is SANE-P certified.
