Kristina Marie Angel is a highly experienced nurse leader with a diverse background in public health, nursing, and forensic examination. She holds a Master of Public Health and Tropical Medicine from Tulane University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Johns Hopkins University. With over 30 years of nursing experience, Kristina currently serves as the Nurse Manager at Akron Outpatient Clinic, overseeing a large team and facilitating innovative care practices, including the expansion of services and the implementation of drive-through clinics for flu shots and COVID-19 vaccinations.
Kristina's expertise extends to forensic nursing as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, where she independently conducts sexual assault and domestic violence exams, collaborates with law enforcement, and provides expert testimony in court. She has also served as the Women Veteran Program Manager at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center, where she advocated for and coordinated comprehensive healthcare services for women veterans across 13 Community-Based Outpatient Clinics.
Throughout her career, Kristina has demonstrated a commitment to education and leadership, delivering numerous presentations on forensic nursing, domestic violence, and women's health, as well as mentoring new nurses and guiding policy development. Her military service in the U.S. Navy, coupled with her international experience as a Peace Corps volunteer, further highlights her dedication to public service and improving health outcomes for diverse populations.
