Resilience Works
Katherine Manners, M.Ed., LMFT (she/her) is the co-Director and Founder of Resilience Works (www.resilienceworks.org), where she provides training, technical assistance, and consultation to victim service agencies, law enforcement, medical professionals, legal teams, and crisis responder programs. With over 30 years of experience in direct service, supervision, and program development within victim and survivor services, Katherine has become a leading expert in trauma-informed care, vicarious trauma, staff wellness, and homicide bereavement.
Katherine has contributed her expertise to several Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) grants and initiatives, including serving as the Resource Coordinator for the Vicarious Trauma Toolkit (VTT), where she led research and material development for trauma-serving organizations. She is a Subject Matter Expert and member for the Office for Violence Against Women (OVW) including the Law Enforcement Training and Technical Assistant Consortium (LETTAC)
A highly regarded trainer and curriculum developer, Katherine trains nationally on Trauma-Informed Practice, Vicarious Trauma and Building Resilience as well as the unique needs and experiences of homicide survivors, ensuring that victim service providers, legal professionals, and other trauma-service organizations are equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to support individuals affected by violent crime. Additionally, as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Katherine offers crisis intervention counseling, critical incident debriefings, and therapy for victims of crime, as well as for providers and first responders navigating the emotional impacts of their work.
