Rachel Lapp is a Board-Certified Emergency Nurse, Trauma Certified Registered Nurse, Trauma Nurse Specialist, Board-Certified Adult/Adolescent Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner, and Intimate Partner Violence Nurse Examiner. She earned her bachelor's degree from Elmhurst University in 2014. She is a member of the International Association of Forensic Nursing (IAFN) and an active member of the IAFN Illinois Chapter. She is also a member of the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA), End Violence Against Women International (EVOWI), and the Academy of Forensic Nursing (AFN). While her background is in emergency and trauma nursing, Rachel found her true calling 7 years ago when she became a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner. Rachel is currently the FNE SANE Nursing Program Manager over Advocate Health Illinois Central Chicagoland Region. She oversees the forensic nursing programs at Lutheran General Hosptial, Illinois Masonic Medical Center, and Good Samaritan Hospital. Rachel serves as a mentor to nearly 60 SANEs and SANEs-in-training who provide care to sexual assault survivors and patients affected by other forms of interpersonal violence. Rachel lives in Chicago, Illinois. In her free time, Rachel enjoys traveling, playing music with friends, and trips to amusement parks with her partner, Jacob.
