Dr. Acosta is an Associate Clinical Professor at The University of Arizona, College of Nursing, in Tucson, AZ where she teaches community and population health nursing to entry-level nursing students and leads the training of sexual assault nurse examiners. Throughout her nursing career she has engaged in community outreach, including training community health workers and participating in local organizations dedicated to responding to and preventing sexual violence. Dr. Acosta is passionate about sharing her community experiences with nursing students and constantly strives to teach public health nursing concepts and SANE skills in innovative and meaningful ways that actively engage students during the learning process.
